2 Weymouth teachers, now neighbors, turn 90 together
WEYMOUTH – More than 60 years ago, they taught in the Weymouth schools and were both officers in the Weymouth Teachers Association.
Tim Daly, a physics teacher and head of the high school science department from 1957-94, and Dot Messier, an elementary school teacher for 42 years from 1953-95, shared common goals but did not know each other well. Not yet.
In their mid-80s, by chance, they became neighbors living across the hall from one another at Fairing Way at Union Point. Reconnected, they learned their birthdays were just one day apart. This past week, they celebrated turning 90 together in their new community.
